Karachi—Chancellor of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET), Z.A. Nizami, started a series of meetings with members of faculties of various engineering disciplines.
An official of the institution said here on Tuesday that the objective of these meetings is to review the working and performance of faculties of computer, bio-medical, electronics and civil engineering departments and to take steps for further improvement in their working in line with the changing environment as well market related needs.
He said that the first of the series of meetings was held with the faculty members of Computer Engineering and during the two-hour long session, the Chancellor emphasized on the imparting of quality education.
He said that an educational institution and more particularly, an engineering university gains reputation and students are attracted only due to the fact that if quality education is provided which may enable them to prepare themselves for future competition when they enter the practical field.
He told the participants of meeting that a monitoring system has been introduced to evaluate efficiency of teaching staff. He pointed out that this evaluation would be a regular and continuous process.
Meanwhile, Owais Mustafa Qarni, an old Aligarhian and a former Secretary to Government of Sindh, Tuesday visited Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET), established by Algarh Muslim University Old Boys Association (AMUOB).
Qarni, who is on a visit to Pakistan, said as an Algarhian he fully endorses the fact that this university is the fulfillment of a dream of great educationist and reformer Sir Syed Ahmed Khan.
It shows the commitment of Old Boys of Aligarh Muslim University towards the fulfillment of the cause propagated by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, he remarked.
