Police: 12 Shot, 1 Dead at Ohio Frat Party

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Authorities in northeast Ohio say a shooting at a fraternity house just north of the Youngstown State University campus killed one student and wounded 11 people, including six students.

Youngstown police Lt. Franklin Palmer says the shooting happened early Sunday and no arrests have been made.

CBS Affiliate WKBN reports that police were called to a fraternity house at 55 Indiana Avenue around 3 a.m. Sunday.

A statement from the school says officers are working to identify suspects, and the YSU police chief says there's no threat to the campus.

The Mahoning County coroner's office has identified the dead student as 25-year-old Jamail E. Johnson and says he was shot in the head and legs.

Information on the identities and conditions of the injured was not immediately available.

The university said the person killed and six of the wounded are YSU students.

The school says YSU President Cynthia Anderson met students and their families at the hospital this morning and called it "a sad day for the YSU family."
